Did you know? In August of 2009, Mario will be traveling to San Francisco to compete in the USTA National Senior Games for which he qualified in December of 2008. Mario will compete in 70-74 Singles and 65-69 Doubles with his partner, Sam Stevinson. His much-adored wife, Marilyn, will accompany him for the moral support and vacation; they both hope not to leave their hearts behind ha ha - get it - in San Francisco!

Florida State Sanctioned USTA Rankings for many years - latest 1995 Florida in 55+ age group - #5 in Singles and #2 in Doubles. Winner/Finalist recognitions - locally and State of Florida through three decades of playing and teaching. Helped 12 Juniors earn their scholarships to colleges and universities. Taught 25 years accredited/continuing education tennis at Pensacola Junior College (PJC); Junior camps and leisure classes at the University of West Florida (UWF) in the early 1980's; Special Olympics; Annual "Tennis Across America;" "Racquet Round-Up" for Adults, Seniors and Juniors: Coordinated NASP Tournaments, including GPTA and Pensacola Senior Games.

Escambia/Santa Rosa Counties, FL motivator of tennis for all ages, and has assisted high school teams to win their District competitions.

From this vast list of tennis accomplishments, Mario says he has gained the most satisfaction from the "Giving Back" free Tennis Clinics to the Special Olympics, Pollack Kids and Wheelchair Tennis as well as his annual "Tennis Across America" and free clinics for Adults, Seniors and Juniors. The smiles of his students bring Mario the greatest joy of all, as he says of his current state, "I am now in the paying back and sharing with everyone the gift of learning this game for life."
