Tennis-4-Everyone is a nonprofit organization that provides free tennis instruction to local youth attending summer camps at various community centers in the Pensacola area.
During the summer months, the children at Bayview (YMCA), Cobb Center, Salvation Army, Fricker Center, and Gull Point receive free tennis lessons. The USTA's Quickstart Tennis format has been implemented with great success! The new, lighter tennis racquets, foam and pressureless tennis balls, and shortened court size have allowed more children to be "on the court" holding tennis racquets, playing and having actual rallies. Additionally, being indoors helps considerably. With the heat taken out of the equation, the children are more attentive and focused on learning and enjoying the game. Participants also have the opportunity to enter the Arthur Ashe Essay/Art Contest and a chance to win a trip to the U.S. Open!
At the end of each summer, a select few are chosen to receive "scholarships" in the form of free tennis lessons on Saturdays throughout the school year. Also, throughout the school year, Fricker Center after school program participants receive tennis instruction once a week.
