Recently, concerns about the disconnect between the membership of the Penscola Racquet Club and its current ownership caused members to elect an advisory board. The board's role was to devise and oversee improvements to the club that the membership could implement on its own.

Last week those concerns were realized in the worst possible way when the doors to PRC were closed for business indefinitely. However, the tennis community is hopeful that new ownership will restore the club to the excellence of its not-so-distant past.

Which brings us to the most important point of the moment - new ownership.

The Racquet Club has always been a family friendly tennis facility, and if you've ever wielded a tennis racquet in the panhandle of Florida then you know that Brian Sakey throws the most fun tournaments around! With a fresh start the Pensacola Racquet Club can once again be the place where tennis players feel welcome and at home.

Let your voice be heard. Send an email to Bill Day, the President of the PRC Advisory Board. In this email state your interest in belonging to the Racquet Club and the conditions of your interest - can I get a "reopen the swimming pool!" please? State what you would be willing to pay in membership dues. Your potential membership interest is invaluable information to prospective buyers!
