Since @ 1920, the Bayview Tennis Courts have watched the popularity of tennis in Pensacola, Fl. grow to what it is today.
Tennis courts at Bayview are available on a first come, first serve basis - no reservations or court fees are required.
If you're looking for a little casual pick-up tennis - you can just drop by the courts at almost any time. And, if you want to hang with the local Bayview natives, drop by any Saturday morning from @ 6:30am to 10-ish (weather permitting). Be sure to bring your own refreshments because there are no vending machines - and the restrooms are down the hill.
Bayview is also the home of the Bayview Bombers, a group of men brought together by Donald Russell (captain) to play USTA tennis on the courts of Bayview. Russell was very successful in the role of captain for 2 local USTA Men's League teams.
Russell's 3.5 Men's team won their local league with an impressive record of 8-0 in team wins. The Bomber train was eventually derailed when one of their players was disqualified at regionals for being too good.
Russell's 7.5 Combo Team version of the Bombers performed even better. This team's record was 8-1, winning the local league in the last match of the season against our rivals from The Club. The unique atmosphere, great views, and colorful people who hover around the courts of Bayview were our home court advantage in the match. Russell's 7.5 Bombers went to Daytona Beach for the USTA State Championships and performed admirably, but came up short.
Bayview is a wonderful place to play tennis and I hope to be a part of many more teams and matches on its courts.

Two plaques have been placed at the entrance of the Bayview tennis courts recognizing the Caton Family - and Larry Caton, in particular - for their years of contribution to the tennis community in Pensacola.
A dedication was held on December, 28th, Larry's birthday, at which it was announced that Court 1 at Bayview will hereafter officially be known as "The Caton Court" - neat! The dedication was well attended despite the cold and many of the older guys were there and shared stories of Bayview and the Catons from over the years.
Did you know that Bobby Riggs played at Bayview?
